So I'm a 90s kid and I often find myself wearing 90s and even 80s inspired looks without even really trying. (Well, it kind of makes it easy when you have too many high wasted jeans, yes many of them are acid wash, and you wear denim jackets with everything) I wore this look about two weekends ago and I'm just looking at the pictures now thinking, wow this is pretty 90s effortless grunge but still modern day "appropriate." The only item I was really missing was a chocker, but everybody and their grandmother is wearing a chocker now so I can do without one for this post. As always, I try to include links to everything I feature or at least to something similar, so check out the pictures below.

Nordstrom Anniversary SaleIf you're into fashion and great clothes then you've already been informed about the huge Nordstrom 2016 Anniversary Sale, which is their biggest sale of the year. (*Psst, the sale ends in 3 days*) Even if you're just moderately into clothes but you find yourself watching a lot of back-to-school Youtube clothing hauls, you should have heard a little something about it by now.
There are some days that I get so lucky that I just get up and the first two pairing I think of come together to make a great look. I recently paired a cropped hot pink halter top and a black stretchy pencil skirt and created a sophisticated dress-type ensemble.
I love Wendy's Lookbook and her sense of style. I saw Wendy's look a week ago on Instagram and fell in love so much that I decided to recreate it as a Dress for Less look. Designer clothes are great and all but the prices are high. This is a budget friendly zone and I know that it is completely possible to be trendy without spending too much coin.
I'm throwing it back to when I wore this 1980s and 1990s inspired look. What can I say, I'm a 90s kids in love with the 80s charm. I think my love stems from the music and movies of the 80s. The uniqueness it brought to the world, mostly in the American culture, is still a source of inspiration in these modern times. I love the look of the 80s and 90s and I quite often recreate my outfits in dedication to these two decades.
Being Nigerian and being absolutely in love with Ankara prints and clothing, I thought it was very necessary for me to include a feature on one of my favorite dresses that I own. This green, glittery gold, and white dress was inspired by a black and white patterned dress I spotted on Instagram. I got really lucky with the fabric because when I had gone to the Downtown LA Fashion District, I found it in a store and it was down to the last few yards left.
I've noticed that many people find it difficult to figure out what to wear to work. I've read about it on other blogs, there are magazine articles dedicated to work attire, and my friends have told me that sometimes they don't know what to wear to an interview or their first day of work. This mini-series, "What to Wear, Work it!" is here to assist people in finding the most appropriate outfits for many different fields of work.
