Support Black-Owned Brands
Happy #BlackoutDay2020 or happy first Tuesday of July 2020! A lot has been happening in the world. While we are still amidst a global health pandemic we are also continuously confronted with the reality of another pandemic, Racism. Many people are finally realizing the reality that systematic oppression and racism are very much alive today. It's just not enough to "not be racist," people have to actively be antiracist. Although there are countless companies and corporations pledging to support the cause, I want to use my voice and platform here to help bridge the inequity by continuing to support Black owned brands and sharing them on here. So here is a list of some Black owned businesses to shop from and support today!
Small Black-owned businesses you should know aboutThere are countless pop culture and social media platforms compiling listing of Black owned brands and companies, but I would suggest also doing your own research because there are so many out there that many of us haven't had a chance to hear about. You can start off on platforms like We Buy Black which is like the Amazon.com of Black owned brands and My Black Receipt which aims to quantify how Black consumers and allies buy from Black owned businesses. The lists on these sites have so many options from home products to apparel to professional services by Black business owners all over the country. And for my California babes, Black Book LA has got you cover for events, restaurants, and services all around Los Angeles. Updated: Below, I have listed and linked a few brands I have recently learned about I am excited to shop from. Black Owned Apparel BrandsBlack Owned Accessory BrandsBlack Owned Swimwear BrandsBlack Owned Beauty and Body Care BrandsBlack Owned Stationary BrandsBlack Owned Subscription Box BrandsBlack Owned Wine BrandsBlack Owned Home-ware Brands
These are just a few that I have discovered recently. For more Black owned brands to support check out my Tumblr page and my Black Brands board on Pinterest.
